We do not collect, use, save, or have access to any of your personally identifiable data on TraceX for iOS. No login information is required, and the only information you may choose to enter is your current health status, which you can voluntarily report. Your health status is stored locally on your device, but you can choose to update your status if you feel symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 to notify your contacts from the past 14 days. These notifications will be anonymous and your health status will never be associated with your identifier key or stored centrally. No data will ever be shared with any third-parties.
Users may opt-out of receiving push notifications by visiting their device settings, such as the notification settings for mobile phones, and then change those settings for this Application. Users must be aware that disabling push notifications may negatively affect the utility of this Application.
This Application uses bluetooth to read the random identifiers of nearby users within bluetooth range. This data is encrypted and stored locally on your phone.
Users may opt-out of Bluetooth capabilities by visiting their device settings, such as the privacy settings for iOS devices, and then disabling Bluetooth for this Application, some or all of the apps on the particular device. Users must be aware that disabling Bluetooth may negatively affect the utility of this Application, as Bluetooth is needed to detect and log when TraceX users are nearby.
This Application generates and stores a universally unique identifier (or short UUID) on the users’ phones which is then used as an identifier key when other TraceX users are near. This identifier is generated upon installation of this Application, it persists between Application launches and updates, but it is lost when the User deletes the Application. A reinstall generates a new UUID.
